The DECREASE for the month of May 2022 compared to the previous month is due to the decrease of all charges (includes generation, transmission, system loss, lifeline subsidy and true-up adjustment). The 0.1916 PhP/kWh decrease in generation rate significantly contributed in the overall decrease of 0.4728 PhP per kWh which is 41% of the Total Energy Charges with VAT. The said decrease is due to 0.98 PhP/kWh decrease in generation cost of WESM, despite the higher WESM exposure due to being offline (due to plant problem) of Palm Concepcion Power Corp. (PCPC) for almost thirty (30) days and the dramatic spikes in the past months of coal and gas based power suppliers due to the lingering Russia-Ukraine war. The aforementioned occurrences have resulted to the 5% average decrease in the Total Energy Charges. The equivalent of the increase is estimated at PhP 47.28 with VAT and PhP 38.07 without VAT for Residential Consumers with 100 kWh consumptions.
Composition of Rate
DSM (Distribution, Supply and Metering) is the only portion of your bill that is retained by ILECO III to cover its entire operation and maintenance expenses. This rate remains the same (Php 1.4640) since its first implementation in 2009. The remaining charges mentioned above are pass – through charges. The collected amount under these charges are remitted directly to the respective Power Suppliers, NGCP and other Government Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCC) such as PSALM and TransCo.
