ILECO III Board of Directors and Management Committee headed by GM Atty. James G. Balsomo II spearheaded the Ground Breaking Ceremony of the TAGUBANHAN ISLAND BARANGAY LINE ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM (BLEP) to the following island barangays located in the coverage area of ILECO III namely barangay Bagongon, Maliog-liog and Dungon of the Municipality of Concepcion and also barangay Punta Buri and Tagubanhan of the Municipality of Ajuy, last October 19, 2023.
The said program will commence with the construction of distribution line along the coastal areas of the island and installation of housewiring materials. Likewise, it will also ensure power supply on the said area operated by Small Power Utilities Group (SPUG) of the National Power Corporation (NPC) and will cater the power demand of the mentioned island barangays.
The said event were attended by Congressman Raul “Boboy” C. Tupas, 5th District of Iloilo and party, Mayor Milliard S. Villanueva Municipality of Concepcion with Vice Mayor Jovelyn O. Estrada and SB Members of the said municipality. Also, in attendance were NPC Head Engineer of Visayas Mr. Carlos C. Sucgang, Barangay Officials and Member-Consumers of barangay Bagongon, Concepcion.
The cooperative and the recipients was very grateful to Cong. Raul “Boboy” C. Tupas for lobbying the said program and to the National Electrification Administration (NEA) by giving the subsidy fund for the benefit of the MCOs on the island granting a total of PhP 37,094,149.40 for the immediate implementation of the Tagubanhan Island Barangay Line Enhancement Program (BLEP).
